How to Join Star Wave Entertainment
So you wanna be a star huh?
But first you must go through an Idol's Rite of Passage,
the Audition, to see if you can be a star.
Besides creating a character and filling out an application. Basically members' characters can go through an audition stage and/or a screening process, unless personally scouted by a mod or Star Wave member (by using the Invitation to Star Wave item found in our Shop) or is part of the Admin team. These scouted individuals do not have to compete with other applications though we still look over their applications.
Audition Stage
What is the Audition Stage?
This is basically a screening process, where potentials compete with each other, in order to officially join the agency by showcasing their talent to judges (current members/mods)
However this is also a display of skills and abilities, which is why we shall be offering an actual audition rp in chat, so potentials can display their RPing skills to other members and admins. This can be held anytime a mod is available in the chat! But please ask us if we are able to initiate this audition rp for you, as mods are not available 100% of the time while they’re in the chat
This can also be considered a test run for applicants to test their characters in a RP.
This is also a great chance to meet and interact with others through RP.
What is this Audition Stage Chat RP?
It is basically a hosted in-chat interview, typically hosted in the Event Stage Chatroom, where you’ll be roleplaying your intended OC in front a panel of judges (This will have at least 1 mod! Members of the group are allowed to be part of the panel as well) displaying your talents and skills to leave a lasting impression on the panel of judges to choose you to bring into the company as a talent.
By doing this audition chat rp, mods are more likely to choose candidates who participate in this event over those who displayed no RPing skills.
This helps us get to know future members before they join the group
Secondly, our group is not only Art based but can be Chat RP based. We would like to involve members in group chat gatherings, and those who do not participate in our chat RP events may miss out or hear the juicy gossip last and miss out on the fun.
Lastly we would like members who are able to interact with others.
- Potentials who participate in this Audition Stage RP will get recognition points once they are accepted into the group and get jump start over others. (+1 FR★ )
- Obtaining Fame Recognition lifts also certain restrictions on character creation like age, being a former star/idol, and being scouted.
- If this is your first time RPing, we highly suggest you to participate anyhow, so we can help you get use to RPing in future events. If you were to be accepted into our group, we would like to prevent having members jump into a very serious event not knowing what to do in the RP.
Notes Just an overall note, you do not have to take part in the audition chat event before applying to Star Wave. Purely optional. This is only an option that we allow applicants to officially RP in the group and interact with others if they wish to do so! Questions
Do I have to take part in the Audition Stage RP?
Nope, it is optional!
Can my character be a former star? Child idol?
Yes, if you are considered to fall under one of the criteria:
- You are invited by a mod
- You are a mod
- You are currently a member of Star-Wave
- You have gone through the audition rp conducted in the chat.
These characters are supposed to be extremely few.
You cannot put down in your history about your OC being a child idol or in a national audition where he/she lost, and everyone around him/her knows about your character’s failure without having Fame Recognition Points unless you match one of the criterion above.
So generally this will not be allowed until you obtained Recognition Points; however you can still state that your character has failed a general audition or failed their debuting without anyone knowing without having to go through an Audition RP.
If you already are a member of Star-Wave, you are allowed to make these kind of characters!
Can I put in my OC’s history, s/he has been scouted by the agency?
Yes, if you are considered to fall under one of the criteria:
- You are invited by a mod
- You are a mod
- You are currently a member of Star-Wave
- You have gone through the audition rp conducted in the chat.
Most characters will not be scouted by the agency. They must have fame recognition before entering the group to be eligible to be scouted, as all characters start at the Rookie Level.
One way to get approval for this is to go through a chat rp audition where mods (members are allowed to join in the panel as well) will be judges in a screening process, where you character will have to rp with judges. By taking part of this audition rp, you will gain fame recognition points before you are accepted the group and will be able to state you have been scouted or a former idol. This is to display your RPing skills to us and express your commitment of joining our group!
App check or requesting through note for permission will not give you this approval! As being scouted by the agency is an indicator of certain skills that stand out to the scouting agent, like singing and charisma, among all other normal civilians.
Members already in the group can create future OC's with histories having their characters being scouted by the agency.
Can't I just ask and get permission via group note/comment/app check to have my OC be a scouted talent/former star?Nope. We do not prefer applicants not to overuse the 'uniqueness' of being a scouted talent or former star, and would rather reward those who really want it, or just allow members who won't abuse the idea of having such a character.
Instead of taking part of the Audition Stage Chat RP, can I just write an RP sample on the written portion of the application?No. There is a word limit of 1000 words on written applications, and also it is not required to take part in the Audition Stage Chat RP. Though you can display your RPing skills on your application, we want to see your willingness to RP in the chatroom.
Application Process
So yeah how do I join the group? Let's go through some steps: Check out our Character Creation Journal and make an application. Get an app check if you have time. Application Checks can be asked via front page or through group note, during our opening period. However you will be only allowed to ask for one during the opening period. We extremely doubt you will need more than one Application Check.
- You are not allowed to ask for an Application Check one week before our opening ends. No last minute Application Checks!
- Getting an OK from an application check does not mean auto-acceptance into the group, as mods must have a majority vote to accept you and your application.
- Application Checks are not mandatory at all!
When you are finished and think your application is good to go.Please submit your application to our Audition Stage Folder and fill out a survey that we will provide on the front page when we open!
- DA likes to eat join requests, so let's not have that happen to you!
- Also some people seem to mess up on filling out the application submission survey, so good idea to submit your application to our gallery as well (Plus it's faster too)
Do not send a join request to the group! Screening Process
After receiving applications, the Star Wave Admin team will judge and vote on who is accepted. This is known as the screening process or more commonly the judging period.Here are some of our guidelines we will be using during the screening process.
- We are reserving the right to decline an application and/or applicant if we find either not fitting to our standards.
- There is no art requirement besides being able to draw your own character!
- However applications must be cohesive and put well together! We are looking for balanced yet developed character in this group!
- This can include grammar, punctuation, no spelling mistakes, and no contradictions.
- This also include biographies which reflect and are able to link to personality traits.
- The written portion of the application should not exceed the 1000 word count limit.
- If needed to have a long story, please write a summarized version on the application, and either have the full version underneath or link the longer version on the application (This is not suggested)
- Applications with longer stories are judged more strictly!
After screening and judging, we will either accept, conditional accept, or reject applicants.- Mods will send out invites to applicants and characters who fit Star-Wave.
- To those who need to fix their application, we will ask applicants to send a group note asking what is needed to be fixed and only accept them on conditional terms that the applicant will fix their application!
- This is called a Conditional Acceptance.
- Members who are conditionally accepted must fulfill certain requirements before entering the group, which may be fixing the application or working on behavior, in a limited amount of time (about 1 week).
- Until conditions are met, these members are not allowed to participate in events, activities, features, or receive rewards that Star-Wave offers.
- We will withdraw group member invitations if failure to meet the conditions within the set time frame.
- If you are rejected, you may kindly request for reason of rejections via group note. However if you are an overwhelmed/sensitive type of person, we suggest not to ask to save some hurt.
